Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes will help attract top names
“They’re both creative players who can pick a pass, players with individual qualities. To be a centre-forward in front of these two is a joy.”
The duo has shown good understanding and could form a potent partnership in the United midfield. Their form has seen United remain well within the reach of the top four while also qualifying for the FA Cup semi-finals.
If they keep playing as they are, Solskjaer believes more players will be keen to unite with them at Old Trafford.
“If we keep playing well, keep developing, get into the top positions… I know we can attract good players.”
Having played for a dominant United side, Solskjaer knows what it is like to play in front of a brilliant midfield.
A relatable comparison!
The Norwegian has likened Pogba and Fernandes’ impact similar to that of Paul Scholes, David Beckham, and Ryan Giggs.
Given the names on the list, it is high praise indeed. Although we love our current duo, we have to accept that they have some way to go before matching the names on the list. So far, they are on the right track and with more time together, they can only get better.
Solskjaer is also spoilt for choices given the versatility these stars bring. With players such as Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic all improving, the United boss is in an enviable position.
“Bruno has played in central midfield, to the right, to the left, as a No 8, a No 10, in a diamond. It’s the same with Paul.”
