Wolves slap Manchester United target Raul Jimenez with €100m price tag

According to a report from Spanish publication AS (h/t Mirror), Wolverhampton Wanderers have set an asking price of €100m for star striker Raul Jimenez, who is a target for Manchester United.

Jimenez signed for Wolves in 2018, initially on loan, before making the deal permanent last year. The Mexican international has been a prolific goalscorer for the club in his two years at the Molineux.

Till date, Jimenez has featured 90 times for the Midlands club, grabbing 41 goals and 18 assists. He has been in brilliant form this term, banging in 24 goals across all competitions, leading Wolves’ charge for a top four finish.

Jimenez’s exploits haven’t gone unnoticed with a number of clubs including Manchester United taking an interest in the 29-year-old Mexican ace. Juventus and Real Madrid are also monitoring the Wolves’ marksman. (h/t Mirror)

Amid the interest, Wolves are desperate to hold on Jimenez, given his importance to the team. And in order to stave off interest, they have decided to slap a valuation of €100m on their ace striker.

United, reportedly, remain keen on signing a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, having sold him last summer. However, This price-tag ought to dissuade interested parties, including us, given the current financial situation.

While adding a striker of Jimenez’s ability would be a major boost, there are more pressing needs at the moment.

A right winger should be a top priority for the club and given that we are pursuing Jadon Sancho, another big money move for Jimenez can very well be ruled out this summer.
