“Arsenal fans may not like this” – Man United hero urges PL star to make Old Trafford switch

Louis Saha urges Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to sign for Manchester United

Speaking to compare.bet (h/t Metro), former Manchester United hero Louis Saha has advised Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to follow in the footsteps of Robin van Persie and Alexis Sanchez.

The Gabon international will soon enter the final year of his contract at Arsenal. With the Gunners miles away from the Champions League, the chances of him renewing his deal are remote.

“Arsenal fans may not like this, but I’d like him to join United, I’d be very happy with that”

Apart from United, the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been keeping tabs on the prolific scorer. The 31-year-old has scored an impressive 61 goals and 13 assists in 99 games since joining Arsenal in 2018. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Louis Saha has advised Aubameyang to sign for Manchester United

With a pedigree to match the best scorers in the league, he will be a massive signing for United. A proven goalscorer, he could add much to the United frontline.

The timing of the deal could be ideal given Odion Ighalo’s loan will expire in January. In spite of being 31, Aubameyang still has a few years left in him.

We personally feel he will fall short of the effect Van Persie had at Old Trafford. The Dutchman played a blinder of a season to lead United to the title.

The league today is much more competitive, with United miles below the level required to top Liverpool and Manchester City. There is no reason why we cannot close the gap on them, but expecting Aubameyang to replicate Van Persie’s feat is no mean task.

If the deal does come to pass, let’s hope he is more of a Van Persie than a Sanchez. Both the fans and the club have seen enough of the Chilean and it’s enough.

United return to action on Wednesday as they take on Sheffield United. With Chelsea five points clear, it is a must-win game for us.
