Manchester United still have hope in Jude Bellingham chase

According to the German publication Bild (h/t The Sun), Manchester United still retain hope in the pursuit of Jude Bellingham.

The 16-year-old is one of the brightest prospects in the country. He looked to be on his way to Dortmund despite United’s aggressive sales pitch.

The major factor turned out to be the German side’s ability to offer him more game time in comparison to United.

According to the report, the move has run into problems, with Dortmund unable to meet Birmingham City’s asking price. Despite already having an agreement with the player, the coronavirus pandemic has affected Dortmund’s finances.

The clubs are significantly apart in their valuations. Birmingham are demanding £31.3million while the Germans are ready to pay £18million. (h/t The Sun)

The development can give United the opportunity to steal the youngster from under Dortmund’s noses. Whether we can do so or not remains to be seen.

He will not be expected to start every game. But as we have shown with Mason Greenwood, he will receive enough opportunities to prove himself.

At 16 years and 38 days, Bellingham is the youngest player in Birmingham City’s history. A versatile player, the youngster is capable of playing anywhere in the midfield, with him predominantly playing in the middle and on the right.

United had earlier employed the big guns to showcase their seriousness in the player. Sir Alex Ferguson was also roped in to meet Bellingham as he was shown around the United training facility.

The Red Devils are keen to bring in the best young talents to Old Trafford. It was Hannibal Mejbri and Dillon Hoogewerf joined last season. This time, we are set to add Radek Vitek, Joe Hugill, and Marc Jurado this summer.

With more talent available across different age groups, we could form a conveyor belt of players coming through the system.
