Ole Gunnar Solskjaer happy with Manchester United rebuild

According to the Mirror, Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is very excited with the development shown by his young team.

He believes that the club’s rebuilding strategy has put them ahead of their rivals. With football set to return in less than a week, he cannot wait to unleash his players. (h/t Mirror)

With the likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford back, the current United team evokes memories of the illustrious ones under Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Although they have to achieve much to be mentioned in the same bracket, the signs are promising.

The Norwegian believes the club’s new strategy has displayed results. Rather than throw money at a problem, United have focussed on bringing in ambitious home-grown players. A far cry from the lavish sums invested in Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. (h/t Mirror)

“Yes, we’ve been building a young, exciting, positive team at this club because that’s what our fans want to see.” 

The progress has picked up in recent months as United rise up the table. The Red Devils are unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions since last losing to Burnley in January.

They are now primely placed to challenge Chelsea for the fourth spot, while also hopeful of winning two trophies.

All this has been made possible by a set of players who rolled back the years at Old Trafford. For the first time in years, the United way was back on the agenda.

“As coaches we want to see that too. The staff here have the Man United DNA in us as well as the players – and this team is looking more and more like a United team.”

He also confirmed that he will rotate players to ensure the deserving get a chance while also doing what is the best for chemistry. (h/t Mirror)

“A team is more than eleven and definitely more than 3 so we are going to have to rotate and give players a chance to get into the team and the team’s chemistry.”
