Manchester United could sign Raul Jimenez for a bargain £18m
According to TuttoJuve (h/t Football.london), Manchester United could sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Raul Jimenez for a bargain price of £18m in the upcoming window.
The Mexican international has impressed since moving to the Molineux in 2018. He has enjoyed a prolific season and has scored 22 goals and 10 assists in 44 games. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Jimenez is a clinical striker who is capable of leading the line. A team player, he is also good at connecting with the players around him and bringing them into play.
United have already extended the loan of Odion Ighalo until January 31, 2021. The Nigerian has excelled since moving to United, but he is not a long-term solution.
According to the report, the uncertain financial landscape facing football clubs could be a reason for the decrease in the player’s value. We will be hard-pressed to find a striker of Jimenez’s experience and ability for that price elsewhere.
At 29, Jimenez isn’t someone who can be relied upon as a long-term project. But he is a readymade striker who can contribute to our cause from the get-go. Incredibly fit, he is a prolific goalscorer who is hardly sidelined.
Although the likes of Edinson Cavani are available for free, Jimenez’s experience of the Premier League should be taken into consideration.
More so, he is a player for the big matches and has had the experience of playing in the Champions League. He has made 13 appearances in the Europa League for Wolves and has scored 9 goals and 4 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Jimenez is the club’s record signing, having initially joined on loan in 2018. The deal was made permanent following a spate of impressive showings. He went on to win the club’s Players’ Player of the Season in the 2018-19 season.
He could very well turn out to be one of the shrewdest signings we have made in recent years.
