Bruno Fernandes snubbed Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester United

Speaking on Instagram live (h/t the Metro), Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes snubbed interest from Tottenham Hotspur to complete his dream move to Manchester United.

The move failed to materialize as Spurs failed to met Sporting Lisbon’s asking price. Their loss was our gain as we eventually signed him for an initial £47million in January. That price could eventually rise to £68million.

It followed a lengthy pursuit of the midfielder that we had been tracking since last summer.

Fernandes admitted that there was concrete interest from Spurs. However, once we entered the race, he was only interested in a move to the Theatre of Dreams.

“Maybe Tottenham came again in January but when I knew Manchester was interested I just wanted to talk to Manchester.”

He also went on to confirm that there was interest from France and Spain. Thankfully for us, the chance to play for his dream team was too good to turn down.

“Manchester was my dream team in England so I am happy because I have the chance to go to a team that I always [dreamed about] you know.”

The transfer added fresh life into our rise up the table. Fernandes has scored 3 goals and 4 assists in 9 games for the Red Devils. (h/t Transfermarkt)

“For me it was the best chance I have to move, the best club [offer] that I had to move and the best moment I could have. It was everything in the right moment.”

Unbeaten in a United shirt, he won the Premier League Player of the Month in his first month in England. (h/t Premier League)

Fernandes is without a doubt, one of our best signings in recent windows. He has adjusted to life at United from the get-go, making the transition easier.

With his best yet to come, United fans better brace themselves. With us yet to face Tottenham in the PL, it would be ironic if Fernandes scored the winning goal.
