Manchester United target Thiago Almada as Jadon Sancho alternative

According to MEN, Manchester United have earmarked Thiago Almada as an alternative to Bundesliga sensation Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils are readying a list of alternatives just in case their pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund star leads nowhere.

Bournemouth star David Brooks and Schalke youngster Rabbi Matondo are the other players also being considered as alternatives. (h/t MEN)

19-year-old Almada has been attracting interest from Europe. The Argentine, who is capable of playing in a variety of positions, has made 46 appearances for Velez while scoring 9 goals and 4 assists.

Of all the alternative above, Almada is the one for who we can expect competition. The likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal are keen while Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the youngster. (h/t Express)

According to the report, United admire the player but will only offer him a backup position at the club at this moment in time.

The right-wing is a position that the club is keen to strengthen. Although capable of playing there, Almada has predominantly played as an attacking midfielder or on the left flank.
