Manchester United will vote on phase two of Project Restart next week

As reported by the MEN, Manchester United will be voting on the implementation of Phase Two of the Premier League’s Project Restart next week.

Earlier this week, Manchester United, along with other Premier League clubs, unanimously voted for a return to training in small groups, successfully passing Phase One of Project Restart. (h/t MEN)

Players have resumed training in small groups of five, maintaining a two-metre distance at all times. In addition, the sessions are limited to just 75 minutes, with players also getting tested for coronavirus during the process. (h/t MEN)

Phase Two of Project Restart would see full-contact training resume, protocols of which will be discussed in the meeting on Wednesday. And Manchester United, among other shareholders, will be voting on the matter. (h/t MEN)

Culture secretary Oliver Dowden has handed further boost to the potential implementation of Phase Two. He claimed that the plans for full-contact training may even get approval from the government by the end of next week. (h/t MEN)

“I hope, subject to the sign-off by Public Health England and others, we will then later this week, very shortly, get the guidance about how we can have training in a contact environment, this is for elite sports, so they can start to build-up.”
