Thiago Almada to snub Manchester United in favour of Manchester City

According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United are set to taste defeat in the race to sign Velez Sarsfield midfielder Thiago Almada.

A product of the Velez Sarsfield academy, the 19-year-old made his first-team debut back in 2018 and has since grown into a key player for the Argentine outfit.

Almada has enjoyed a solid 2019/20 campaign so far, scoring five goals and assisting two more in 25 matches. This has resulted in interest from both the Manchester clubs. (h/t The Sun)

However, it seems like Almada is set to snub the interest from our club in order to sign for our arch-rivals. As per the report, the 19-year-old playmaker idolised former Argentine international Carlos Tevez during his youth days.

Tevez played for both United and City and tasted success at both clubs. The seasoned campaigner won two Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Club World Cup with us. He then went on to win FA Cup and another league title at City.
