Grealish has been linked with a summer switch to Old Trafford for quite a while now. The Aston Villa star has had a brilliant 2019/20 campaign, after helping the team to promotion last season.
In 31 matches in all competitions, the 24-year-old has scored 9 goals and assisting 8, impressing heavily in the process.
Grealish, now, has dropped a cheeky hint that he could be on his way to the club. In a Q&A on Instagram, the Villa star was asked what shirt number he would wear if not the No.10 that he currently dons. (h/t Evening Standard)
Grealish’s response to that will have excited a large number of Manchester United supporters. (h/t Evening Standard)
“I used to love seven growing up because of Cristiano [Ronaldo].”
If that is not a subtle come-and-get-me plea, then what is? The 24-year-old Grealish has been Aston Villa’s best player by far and would no doubt add more quality to our squad going forward.
Moreover, with Aston Villa facing the prospect of relegation, the chances of getting Grealish on a cut-price deal also look bright. This makes him an attractive prospect with finances set to be impacted due to the pandemic.
