“The dream remains intact”: South American winger dreams of Man United transfer

Yeferson Soteldo eyes lifetime contract at Manchester United

According to El Drink Team Podcast via Gazeta Esportiva (h/t Express), Venezuelan winger Yeferson Soteldo has revealed his dream of playing for Manchester United.

“I always dreamed of playing for Manchester United, the dream remains intact.”

The 22-year-old, who plays for Brazilian giants Santos, believes he is closing in on swapping South America for Europe. He intends to help his side clinch the Copa Libertadores before moving on (h/t Express).

Signed from Chilean side Club Deportivo Huachipato in 2019, the winger has gone from strength to strength at the Urbana Caldeira stadium. Having scored on his debut, he quickly established himself in the starting lineup under Jorge Sampaoli.

He has continued to impress this season by scoring 10 goals and seven assists in 36 appearances. Similar success has been replicated on the international stage where he has already won 17 caps for his country.

A versatile attacker, Soteldo is capable of playing anywhere across the front line. He is now ready to take the next step in his promising career. He plans to finish his chapter in Brazil by December before taking the next step (h/t Express).

Furthermore, the Venezuelan is determined to succeed in Europe and is prepared to wait for the right moment. His ambition to make the switch to Old Trafford is such that he is willing to wave off interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona if any (h/t Express).

A stellar role model!

His love for United comes from his adoration of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar spent a hugely successful six seasons at Old Trafford before moving to Real Madrid in 2009 (h/t Express).

“I’ve been following Cristiano Ronaldo since I was a child. I saw him at Manchester United and that’s why my love and desire to play at Old Trafford.”

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on bringing in a winger. Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is his preferred choice.

Soteldo is nowhere in the picture at this moment. But at just 22 he still has a long time yet to make his dream come true.

The winger encompasses the dreams of a large number of players to don the famous Red of United (h/t Express).

Soteldo won the award for the best-attacking midfielder in the Venezuelan Primera Division in 2016. In addition, he won the Best Foreign player award in Chile the following year.

He seems assured of his skills and is not afraid to dream big. He will hopefully make the move to Old Trafford sometime in the future. If he can emulate half of what his idol Ronaldo did, he will have made it.
