According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United have beaten off interest from arch-rivals Arsenal to tie down former Tottenham Hotspur starlet Omari Forson.

The 15-year-old attacking midfielder is one of the nation’s brightest prospects. He has impressed for the club’s Under 16 and Under 18 sides since making the move last year.

Turning 16 in July, Forson’s progress has not been lost on the United hierarchy, who are keen to retain their best talents. The midfielder has also been with West Ham United in the past but Manchester will be his home for the foreseeable future, having agreed on the deal.

United have moved quickly to tie down the youngster to professional terms amidst interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are in the midst of restructuring their academy and were keeping a keen eye on the youngster.

Thankfully, Forson is ready to commit his future at Old Trafford after being promoted to play with Neil Ryan’s Under-18s.

In his early years, he trained at David Beckham’s Academy in Greenwich. An England youth international at the under-16 level, he is also eligible to play for Ghana.

A player with excellent dribbling and natural balance, Forson has played in all four rounds of the FA Youth Cup so far, which included the win over Leeds United at Old Trafford.
