Wilfred Ndidi opens up on future amidst Manchester United interest
According to ESPN, Leicester star Wilfred Ndidi has opened up on his future amidst interest from Manchester United.
He is keen to stay put and honour his contract with the Foxes. Leicester are on the verge of Champions League qualification.
The Nigerian who plays in defensive midfield has been a central figure to his team’s success with his ability to both orchestrate and break up play from the back.
“We are doing well and I am enjoying myself here. I still have a contract with Leicester”
His impressive performances have seen him get linked with a move to English heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester United. However, the player who is contracted at the King Power Stadium till 2024, has no intention of going anywhere.
“I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I am doing okay here so no need to go anywhere.”
It appears as if manager Brendan Rodgers has had an excellent influence on the player. He has praised the Irishman for his ability to rejuvenate and organize a team.
He has also helped the player on an individual level, with Ndidi citing the 1-1 draw against Chelsea this season as a turning point.
Ndidi would have been an excellent player to sign. The likes of Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay would have found it easier to go forward knowing well that the Nigerian would protect them at the back.
Sadly though, it appears as if the player will not be leaving Leicester anytime soon.
