Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford set to return to Manchester United training
According to the Mirror (h/t Daily Mail), key Manchester United duo Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford will be available for selection when the season eventually resumes.
United have coped well in the absence of the players and are currently in fifth spot, just three points off the final Champions League spot.
The squad too is in a better position following the additions of Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo. The shutdown has worked out well for us given we will have a full-strength squad to choose from going into the final stretch of the season.
Pogba, who is United’s most expensive signing has made just eight appearances this season and has struggled for fitness.
Rashford, on the other hand, suffered a stress fracture and has not appeared since January. His game time upon return can be better managed given the availability of Ighalo.
The absence of a backup forced Ole Gunnar Solksjaer to play Rashford in every game, overextending his physical abilities.
United are preparing to resume training at Carrington. The ground staff and maintenance workers have been called back to prepare the facility for the return of the players. (h/t Daily Mail)
The club has been indulging in the action while following the government’s rules on social distancing.
So far there has been no concrete date set for the season to resume. The clubs are however keen to finish the season by the end of June.
