Manchester United want £19m for Alexis Sanchez

Man United will search for potential suitors to offload on-loan star

Manchester United will search for clubs interested in signing Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean’s stint at Old Trafford, according to the Manchester Evening News (h/t Express).

The Chilean moved to Old Trafford from Arsenal in January 2018 and was expected to be a big hit. He was one of the best players at the Emirates and should have taken us to the next level.

However, Sanchez could only muster up a handful of goals during his stay here. He was then sent to Inter Milan on loan, but things haven’t gone well for him.

The 31-year-old has only started two Serie A games this term with seven more appearances off the bench.

Sanchez has just one goal and one assist for the Serie A giants, and the report claims they are unsure about signing him permanently. United will search for new buyers in the summer window, but they face one major hurdle in that.

Sanchez’s wages are a problem

The report adds that Sanchez was on a £400,000-a-week salary at Old Trafford, and any club keen on signing him would have to stump up big.

Sanchez seems to have lost his spark since the big-money move for him, and we need to get him out of the books as soon as possible.

The wage offered to him seems a little ridiculous now, but he was genuinely one of the best in the league during his Arsenal days.

He has had injury problems since the move too and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Inter send him back. Offering £400,000-a-week in wages to Sanchez now would be a risky move and hopefully, we can move him on.

Inter have signed other United players recently too. Romelu Lukaku has been a hit under Antonio Conte while Ashley Young made the switch in the winter window.
