Gomes faces a tough challenge with regards to breaking into the team. However, the youngster told Andreas Pereira over a Google Hangouts chat that he wants to win silverware with the Red Devils (h/t Metro):

“I’ve seen it over the years, coming up from the academy and being at United my whole career. It’s what I want to go on to do – win trophies for the club.”

Man United preparing deal to keep starlet

The 19-year-old has a bright future ahead of him and United have opened negotiations over a new deal last month (h/t Metro).

Both Chelsea and United have young managers who are willing to provide starlets chances to impress. Frank Lampard has allowed youngsters such as Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham to become regulars at Stamford Bridge.

However, Ole has done the same with several of our academy stars, and it would make sense for Gomes to remain here.

The youngster knows the manager, the club and the other players well, and it is his dream to become successful here.
