Brandon Williams set for a bright future at Old Trafford

Manchester United aren’t interested in signing a new left-back thanks to the performances of Brandon Williams, according to The Sun.

The 19-year-old has been one of the revelations under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has 26 appearances to his name this season.

Williams has also kept Luke Shaw out of the team at times and has one goal to his name too.

United had plans to send the youngster out on loan, like Dean Henderson, but those plans have been shelved (h/t Sun).

However, they also believe that a large sum would be saved by promoting the youngster. A source close to United told The Sun:

“Ole loves Brandon’s attitude and he will be here next season. The bosses think he will save them £50m.”

The source also claimed that Solskjaer was planning to sign a left-back in the past, but those plans have changed now.

Still needs a bit of work

Williams has been one of the bright spots for us this season, and it will be interesting to see what our plans are for him in the coming years.

Solskjaer has been able to get the best out of the young players this season, but we have to be wary of burning them out soon.

Williams has a lot of potential and will improve in the coming years. However, it is a little risky if we stick with him and Shaw for the upcoming campaigns.

Shaw has been up and down in his United career while Williams needs more experience under his belt. His game isn’t complete too and hopefully, he can improve leaps and bounds for us.

Mason Greenwood is another youngster who has impressed this season, but it might be some time before we see the Red Devils in action again.
