Nemanja Matic has high hopes for Scott McTominay
Speaking on MUTV (h/t Mirror), veteran Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has given youngster Scott McTominay his vote of confidence.
A rising star in the club’s ranks, the Serbian believes that the youngster can go on to earn legendary status at Old Trafford.
A winner of six major trophies across three countries, Matic has played alongside some of the best players in the business.
McTominay made his mark at United under Jose Mourinho. He has continued to be a positive at the club under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.
The 23-year-old returned from injury only recently and immediately showcased what he is capable of. McTominay scored in the 5-0 hammering of Club Brugge and then followed it up with a late goal as United beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for the third time this season.
Matic revealed that he talks a lot with McTominay a lot, while going on to admit that he has all the makings of a seasoned professional.
“He’s a proper senior player he plays like he’s had 10 years in the first team”
Matic continued to lavish praise on his teammate and feels he is a positive influence to have in the dressing room.
“I think he will be a very important player for Manchester United in the next 10 years or more.”
Matic also went on to praise McTominay’s attitude and feels he can thrive under any manager in the world. As long as he keeps working hard, it is only a matter of time before he is counted among our best.

The 23-year-old has made 74 appearances for United. He has scored seven goals and one assist from midfield. Primarily a central midfielder, Mctominay is also capable of playing in both attacking and defensive roles.
