Man United consider signing Odion Ighalo permanently in £15m deal

According to a report by The Metro, Manchester United are considering signing on-loan star Odion Ighalo on a permanent basis.

In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, footballing action has been suspended for the time being. As a result, the report claims that United are unsure as to whether or not he would be able to play for the club again.

His loan deal will expire at the end of the season but the remaining fixtures will be decided depending on the situation.

A shock deadline day signing in the January transfer window, Ighalo has managed to do pretty well at United so far. We were in dire need of a new striker following Marcus Rashford’s injury and the 30-year-old did manage to live up to the expectations.

In his first 8 games for United, Ighalo bagged 4 goals. Since his loan deal will end right before the month of June, the decision to make his deal a permanent one does strike the right chords.

And as per Daily Mail (h/t The Metro), a deal worth £15m is believed to be in the works.

Considering how Ighalo has steadied the sails for us – at least as far as the attacking unit is concerned – United would be wise to tie him down to a permanent deal before his loan expires.

If they fail to do so, Ighalo may have already played his last game in a United shirt and that is a risk we simply cannot afford to take right now.
