PSG could turn to Jadon Sancho if Neymar moves to Barcelona

According to Sunday Mirror (h/t The Express), Paris Saint-Germain could scupper Manchester United’s chances of signing Jadon Sancho if Neymar decides to leave the French giants in the summer.

Although the Brazilian superstar has been impressive for the Parisians, he continues to be linked with a return to Barcelona.

There was intense speculation regarding a return to the Nou Camp last summer. There remains the possibility of the player moving this summer as well.

If such a scenario comes to pass, the French giants would need a big-name replacement for the Samba star. The report goes on to say that the Parisians have identified Jadon Sancho.

Sancho has enjoyed an excellent season at the Signal Iduna Park and scored the winner against Freiburg last weekend. The goal takes his tally to 17 goals for the season.

The 19-year-old now has 17 goals and 18 assists in 33 games, an impressive goal contribution of more than one per game.

Champions League football the key

The lack of Champions League football was a reason for missing out in Sancho last summer.

United are currently three points off the top four and also possess a reasonable chance of winning the Europa League. Qualifying for Europe’s biggest competition could turn out to be the key to signing one of the continent’s brightest prospects.
