Manchester United transfer boost as £107m La Liga star eyes Old Trafford move

Jan Oblak wants to move to Manchester United this Summer

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is eyeing a summer exit and looks to favour a move to Manchester United, according to ESPN (h/t The Sun).

The Slovenian shot-stopper ingrained his position as one of the best shot-stoppers with his consistent displays over the course for the La Liga side.

And the 25-year-old, who is valued at £107m, kept 20 clean sheets in the recently concluded La Liga campaign, playing a huge role for Diego Simeone’s side finishing second in the table.

Oblak moved to Atletico in 2014 and has kept more than 100 clean sheets in around 200 appearances.

United’s stance with David de Gea

The Spaniard shot-stopper has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford as the Red Devils have failed to meet his demands of high wages. Ligue 1 club PSG turn out to be the potential suitors of the 28-year-old.

On the other hand, some big names like Gianluigi Donnarumma and Jasper Cillessen have emerged on United’s wish list to replace De Gea.

Is Oblak the ultimate successor of De Gea?

Though it looks difficult to fill the void of De Gea who has been phenomenal for United over the course, Oblak can be the right one to dethrone the Spaniard.

Barring his first season at Atletico, the Slovenian No.1 hasn’t let the clean sheets count below 20, a unique record which is absent among most of the shot-stoppers.

Solskjaer can really savour his first silverware should the Red Devils be able to persuade Oblak to choose Old Trafford.
