Manchester United are close to signing Daniel James from Swansea City
According to a report from Sky Sports, Manchester United are edging closer to Swansea City’s Daniel James for £15m.
The Welsh winger has been Pivotal for Graham Potter’s side this season, bagging 4 goals and 7 assists in 33 matches.
James was expected to join Leeds United earlier this January, only to be snubbed by the Swans in the eleventh hour.
Premier League giants Manchester City are also one of the suitors for the Welsh prospect now it looks like the Red Devils have the edge.
The 21-year-old also scored his first international goal for Wales in last month’s Euro Qualifiers against Slovakia.
Could James solve United’s attacking woes?
United’s current squad needs to be scrutinised after enduring a torrid season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
As far as the attacking unit is concerned, the Red Devils lacked characters despite the presence of big names like Martial, Lukaku, Sanchez and Lingard, who clearly struggled through injuries.
Marcus Rashford turned out to be one of the positives for the Norwegian manager, yet the youngster was devoid of support from his teammates.
With the addition of James, Solskjaer can restore United to its former glory. Known for his deadly pace and technical skills, the Welsh winger also doesn’t shy away from scoring goals as he scored some screamers in the Championship.
