Duncan Castles believes that Manchester United will complete a deal for Eder Militao in the summer.

The Brazilian defender has been excellent for Porto since joining them. Daily Star claims the 20-year-old has a release clause of €42.5m with United leading the way for his signature.

The report adds that the Red Devils face competition from Real Madrid, Everton and Liverpool but Castles was certain United would move for him in the summer.

The journalist told the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Daily Star):

“They like his speed, they like the simplicity of his game, they like his physique and it seems clear that he won’t be much longer at Porto.

“If it doesn’t happen in this window, I would expect it to happen in the summer for sure barring a very bad injury on the part of the player.”

Castles added that the defender has been scouted by some of the top clubs in Europe and claimed that clubs are watching him due to his performances in Europe.

Militao would make an incredible signing for United and it will be interesting to see what we do in the summer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently hinted that he doesn’t expect United to make a move in the winter window. The Norwegian has done a fantastic job so far as the manager.

Solskjaer has won every game in charge of United so far and we could even qualify for the Champions League after Arsenal’s win over Chelsea.

We lie just three points behind the fourth-placed Blues. Finishing in the top four would be a brilliant turnaround after a tough start to the season.
