Manchester United’s new interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have £50million to spend in the winter window and fix their season, the Mirror reports.

The Norwegian replaced Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese was sacked after the 3-1 loss to Liverpool at the weekend.

Solskjaer and Mike Phelan are trying to fix the damage done by the club and the report adds that Ed Woodward would free up the funds for the new manager ahead of the winter window.

The report claims that the club want to sign a central defender and a right-sided midfielder, and the funds would be available to sign the right players.

Toby Alderweireld is an option for United and the report claims that the Tottenham defender could be available for £30million next month.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Kalidou Koulibaly is another option but his price point is extremely high at the moment. United could also move for Douglas Costa of Juventus (h/t Mirror), with the Brazilian struggling for starts at the Serie A club.

United are a shadow of their former glorious selves and sit 11 points outside the top four spots. It will take a minor miracle to ensure we have Champions League football next season and hopefully, we achieve that goal with some new signings in the winter window.

Our next opponents are one of Solskjaer’s former clubs, Cardiff, and three points are a must from the clash on Saturday.
