Manchester United are set to battle Premier League rivals Liverpool for 15-year-old Romello Mitchell, as per the Sun (h/t Express).
The report claims that the youngster has caught the eye of the Premier League giants after scoring against the academy teams of both clubs.
The youngster will turn 16 in January and the report adds that Mitchell would be allowed to leave for a small compensation fee.
United didn’t make a lot of news for signing attacking players in the summer and we need to bolster the side in the winter window.
Securing a Champions League spot is a huge uncertainty with the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal doing well. Hence, Jose Mourinho has to splash the cash and make us a better side for the second half of the campaign.
Mitchell isn’t someone who can save our season but we should always be on the lookout for quality players who can be developed into the next big thing.
Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard are a couple of players who came through the ranks at Old Trafford and we are renowned for including academy blood in our first-team.

Mitchell has a tough decision to make about his future but joining one of the Premier League sides will certainly help his development, and hopefully, fast-track his chances of playing for the first-team.
