Manchester United could be involved in an incredible swap deal with Chelsea in the winter window. The Sun claims that the Blues are interested in Anthony Martial and could send Willian the other way.

The report adds that United activated a one-year extension on the Frenchman’s current deal, but the parties are yet to agree on a new contract for the 22-year-old.

Martial has been one of our best players this season and has six goals from eight Premier League games. The report claims that the Frenchman wants to stay at United having settled in Manchester and talks of a new contract have been going on since the summer.

Chelsea had proposed the swap in the summer window too, as per the report, and Willian has played under Jose Mourinho earlier.

The Brazilian would be a decent signing for the Red Devils but losing Martial in the process might not be the best move.

Willian certainly is a hard worker and is a Mourinho kind of player, even though he is a winger. The Brazilian will track back and help out in defence, something that the manager loves.

However, Martial is showing glimpses of the form from his first season at the club. The Frenchman certainly can get better since he is only 22, and United must do all they can to ensure he signs a new deal at the club.
