Jose Mourinho wants Manchester United to move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in January, according to the Sun. The report adds that Mourinho watched the 23-year-old in action during Serbia’s 2-0 win over Montenegro.

The report adds that Milinkovic-Savic signed a new deal with Lazio last month, meaning United must pay a huge fee for the 23-year-old. United saw a £80million bid get rejected in the summer, as per the report.

The midfielder could cost more than the £89m we paid for Paul Pogba, as per the report, but United do have a small advantage.

Former Chelsea star Mateja Kezman Milinkovic-Savic’s agent and was one of the first signings Mourinho made when he joined the Blues more than a decade ago.

United have struggled to get the right results this season with three defeats from their first eight Premier League games.

Our midfield hasn’t been great since the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Fred and Marouane Fellaini have all failed to perform well.
