Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar isn’t letting rumours of a move to Manchester United distract him. The Slovakian was linked with the Red Devils over the summer (h/t Manchester Evening News) and reports suggest that the 23-year-old is a target for Jose Mourinho in January as well.

The Inter defender, however, isn’t getting ahead of himself and concurrently played down any links to joining the Premier League club.

Skriniar was speaking to Sport.sk (h/t Manchester Evening News) and said:

“Yes, but I don’t know if it’s true.

“Personally, I don’t know, as the transfer window has just shut, so it’s hard for me to say anything.

“There was some noise in the summer, but nothing happened, so I’m not letting it bother me.”

The Slovakian has helped Inter to a winning start in their Champions League group and the Italian club are currently third in the Serie A.

The report claims that Mourinho wanted to sign defenders in the summer window but failed to land any of his targets. United only made three signings before the start of the season with Lee Grant, Fred and Diogo Dalot joining the club.

The Portuguese manager, however, plans to strengthen his team in January and getting Skriniar would cost United close to £60million.
