Former Juventus pair linked with top jobs at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte

Corriere dello Sport (h/t Mirror) claims former Juventus pair Antonio Conte and Beppe Marotta could join Manchester United.

The Mirror reports that Jose Mourinho is under immense pressure at the club and a loss against Valencia could see some significant steps being taken by the club.

The report adds that United could search for a quality candidate to replace the Portuguese and there are two managers who are available and won’t cost them compensation.

Zinedine Zidane is one of the options and the other is former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who has become an attractive proposition in the last few days, as per the report.

Marotta has left his CEO role at Juventus but was one of the key members at the club. The Italian helped the Serie A giants sign a number of players on cheap, helping them become one of the biggest teams in Europe.

The report adds that Conte has a great relationship with Marotta. The former Chelsea boss is a world-class manager and Marotta could help the club land some fantastic players, which is something he has done at the Old Lady.

While the pair can work well for the team, it would be interesting to see what happens with Mourinho in the coming days.

Facing Valencia and Newcastle will be two major tests to see if he can get results for the team. And anything less than two wins would surely lead to more questions about his future.
