Manchester United made a £50million bid for Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey in the summer, according to beIN Sports (h/t Metro).
The Welshman has been one of the more consistent players for the Gunners in recent seasons. The Metro claims that the midfielder was set to extend his stay at Arsenal but the Gunners withdrew their offer.
The report adds that Ramsey can leave the club on a free transfer and that seems to have a few United fans interested. The Red Devils haven’t played great football this season but Ramsey is an industrious player with a lot of quality in the final third.
The 27-year-old hasn’t come to grips with Unai Emery’s style at Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez joined United from the Gunners last season and hasn’t fired on all cylinders yet.
Some United fans were hopeful of us signing the Gunner while others wanted the club to stay away from the midfielder.
Also Ramsay is a very unusual player who doesn’t fit in too many teams. He doesn’t play like a midfielder but is classified as one. Might suit Jose’s former teams in terms of balance.

Aaron Ramsey still hasn’t signed a new Arsenal contract and he’ll be available on a cut price deal, possibly even a free next year. A 28 year old player who’ll demand high wages with a history of injuries who’s turned us down in the past.
