Man United face competition from numerous clubs for 23-year-old World Cup star

Manchester United are facing a lot of competition for the signature of Hirving Lozano, according to AS (h/t Manchester Evening News).

Lozano scored 17 goals and provided eight assists for PSV Eindhoven last season and is on the wish list of a number of other clubs.

The report adds that Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund are interested in the 23-year-old Mexican.

Lozano was one of the stars for his country at the World Cup as they made it out of a group that included Germany and South Korea.

The 23-year-old even scored in the win over the defending champions and has started this season with a couple of goals from four games.

The Mexican can play on either wing and can slot into the midfield as well. He is one of the most talented players to have emerged out from the Eredivisie in recent years.

Manchester Evening News further claims that Jose Mourinho was unhappy with his options on the wings this summer and tried to sign Ivan Perisic.

The manager wanted to sell Anthony Martial, as per the report, but the Frenchman is set to receive a new contract to stay at Old Trafford.

Lozano could be a decent option for us since he can play in a number of positions and provide us with a different dimension.

The youngster’s selling price could be a little high, given his World Cup performances, but we have to pay the big bucks to get quality players.
