“Do you have any idea how much money they would give me?” – Jose Mourinho jokes about Man United sacking him

Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho was in better spirits after the 2-0 win over Burnley and even joked that sacking him would cost Manchester United a lot of money.

The Daily Mail claims that the United manager earns £15million-a-year post signing a new deal in January. Sacking the manager would entitle Mourinho to one year’s salary, as per the report.

Mourinho spoke to reporters and opened up about him being in “danger” and was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying:

“They say I’m in danger, but I don’t think so.

“If they sent me away, do you have any idea how much money they would have to give me?”

Mourinho also discussed the banner flown over Turf Moor which criticized Ed Woodward. The manager was asked if he paid for the banner himself, to which he replied:

“No, but I could have!”.

United took some pressure off Mourinho with a commanding 2-0 win over the Clarets. The win keeps us six points behind a trio of clubs leading the Premier League table.

The international break hasn’t come at the best time for us. With the newfound momentum, playing our next game could have led to another win.

However, our next clash is against Premier League leaders Watford. The Hornets defeated Tottenham Hotspur in their last game and visiting Vicarage Road will not be easy for Mourinho and his men.

The Portuguese manager still has a lot of work to do but with the win under our belt, we should be confident of getting a result against the Hornets.
