“They didn’t have that song when we beat them at Wembley” – Jose Mourinho hits back at sacking chants from some rival fans

Jose Mourinho had a go at some of the Tottenham fans who were calling for his sacking during Manchester United’s 3-0 loss to Spurs.

Mourinho has lost two of the first three Premier League games this campaign but he came out fighting. Football.london reports that the Portuguese was asked about the chants and the manager reminded the fans about our win over Spurs in the FA Cup semi last season (h/t Football.london).

“Yeah but they didn’t have that song when we beat them at Wembley a couple of months ago,

“A cup final they had a big dream to go to, a title they had a big dream to win, because they don’t win many and of course they were not singing that.”

Mourinho was asked if he would still consider himself as one of the greats if he didn’t win the Premier League but the United man brought Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino into the conversation.

“Do you ask that question to the manager that finished third in the Premier League or fourth?”

Mourinho was reminded that Klopp never claimed he was a “great”, to which he replied:

“Because he never wins anything in international for example. That’s his problem, I tell you what I think, how he feels. And I answer you the question.”

The manager must be feeling a bit of pressure after our poor start but we had our chances to score against Tottenham.

The season is still in its infancy and if we can cut out the mistakes in our defence, we should win more games this season.
