Manchester United will not sack Jose Mourinho despite poor displays and rocky relationship

The Daily Star claims that Jose Mourinho will not be sacked by the Manchester United board and the manager still has the Glazers’ backing.

United were beaten 3-0 at home by Tottenham in the last game and reports (h/t Daily Star) added that Mourinho’s position at the club is under threat.

However, the report from Daily Star claims that Ed Woodward “appreciates” most of the United fans backing Mourinho. Woodward also believes it would be difficult to find the right person to replace the former Real Madrid manager, as per the report.

The report adds that although the pair has a difficult relationship, Woodward is certain that Mourinho can fix things and will be given the time needed to get us back to the top.

The United board is hopeful that Mourinho can start a winning streak and perform well in the Champions League, as per the report.

United did have a number of quality chances in the first half against Tottenham and on another day, we could have had a different story to the game.

The Red Devils were sloppy in defence and hopefully, we can cut out these mistakes in our next game against Burnley.

Making rash decisions regarding the manager will lead us nowhere. The board’s decision to back Mourinho could lead to a revival in our fortunes and get us back on track for a Premier League crown.
