£80m star not willing to return for Manchester United’s pre-season tour

Anthony Martial left the US to be with his partner for the birth of Swan Martial, his second child, however, the Daily Mail claims that the Frenchman does not wish to return for the tour.

Martial and Jose Mourinho have had a rocky relationship at Old Trafford and the French attacker has been linked with a move away from Manchester United.

Mourinho does have a problem now, with Alexis Sanchez being the only striker available at his disposal. The United manager does want to resolve the Martial problem but it is hard to find a club that would be willing to fork out £80million for the 23-year-old.

Martial also reportedly abandoned plans to change residence from the city centre to a home in Cheshire.

While Mourinho did claim that he had no right to stop Martial from going away to be with his partner, it does seem like something will happen regarding the Frenchman before the season starts.

The 23-year-old seems unhappy at United and the best situation would be to sell him off as quickly as possible. There is no point in keeping an unhappy player at the club and the longer we drag this on, the worse it will be for the player and the club.

The problem of finding someone to pay £80million will be tough to resolve but if we reduce the asking price a little, a solution could be found.

If Martial is to leave, he should move to a club which is not in England as the worse thing we can do is strengthen a direct rival.
