Manchester United are willing to pay Chelsea’s asking price for Willian, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Daily Star).

The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge and the report claims that Barcelona’s decision to sign Malcom has opened the door for Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho wants a reunion with the Brazilian at Old Trafford and the Blues reportedly want a fee of £62m to let the winger leave the side.

The report also adds that Barcelona had made three bids for the Brazilian, the last one being worth around £65m, only to be rejected by the Blues.

Willian would be a decent option for us to have given that he is suited to United’s playing style. Mourinho likes wingers that do a lot of tracking back and the 29-year-old is known for his work rate.

The only issue would be the price as stumping up £62m is certainly huge for a player that is close to his 30s. Mourinho, however, knows how to get the best out of the players he wants, as we have seen with Nemanja Matic, who also joined us from the Blues.

It will be interesting to see how the deal progresses given that we do not have a lot of time before the transfer window closes on 9th August.

United have signed three players this season but none of them can bolster our attack. Willian would certainly do that and he could be the missing link that can help us beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.
