Manchester United told to pay £62m for prolific winger

Ivan Perisic

Inter Milan will ask for a fee of £62m should Manchester United try to sign Ivan Perisic, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Metro).

Perisic was one of the most impressive players for Inter last season and he even helped Croatia to a place in the World Cup final.

The 29-year-old winger could not win the coveted trophy with his team but he did score a wonderful goal against France to level things up when they were down 1-0.

The report claims that Inter are prepared for another bid from Manchester United in the summer and will act accordingly.

Only a “shock” offer for the 29-year-old could see the Croatian leave the Serie A side and the club will not be looking to sell him for anything less than £62m.

The report also claims that United had made Perisic as one of their transfer targets last summer but could not sign the winger.

We had even made a bid of £35m for the former Wolfsburg man but Inter wanted £48m for their star. It should not come as a major surprise that Inter are looking to get a premium for the winger, after all, he did help his nation finish second in the World Cup.

Perisic would be a great signing for us as Jose Mourinho seems to rate him a lot. The Croatian might be 29 but if Mourinho uses him in the right manner, we might end up with a great player who would work his socks off and is a perfect fit for our system.
