Contact already made – Manchester United looking to raid Porto for the second time this summer

Manchester United are looking at raiding Porto for the second time in the summer as they have reportedly made contact with an associate of Afonso Sousa.

O Jogo (h/t Metro) reports that the Premier League giants have approached the 18-year-old’s former agent, Carlos Goncalves, in hopes of signing the Porto player.

Sousa has been one of the best performers for the Porto B team in recent months and has been tipped to progress to the first-team squad.

There is one problem with Sousa at Porto because his contract ends at the club next season and many clubs are interested in signing the 18-year-old.

As many as four Premier League clubs and La Liga giants Barcelona are interested in the midfielder. The clubs have also made proposals to the player in hopes of signing him up.

Porto are also not going to go down without a fight and they are preparing a new deal that will keep Sousa at the club for the foreseeable future.

We already bought Diogo Dalot from Porto at the start of the season and maybe we could use that to our advantage in bringing Sousa.

The youngster would probably go to the reserve side so that we can find out how good he is before thinking about playing him in the first-team.

United do have a number of quality youngsters in the team and bringing Sousa in could add some competition for a place in the main squad.
