Man United willing to bid €40m for American World Cup sensation – report

Manchester United are willing to spend €40m for Mexico’s World Cup sensation Hirving Lozano, according to TMW (h/t Mirror).

The 22-year-old winger scored one goal and provided an assist for the Central American side as they crashed out against Brazil in the round of 16.

Lozano did have a great season for his club side PSV as he scored 19 goals and provided 8 assists for the Dutch side.

The youngster also helped his national side pull off one of the shocks of the World Cup as he scored against 2014 champions Germany and saw his side progress to the knockouts.

Jose Mourinho would have to convince the Dutch side to let go of the Mexican, however, the club would be facing competition from Barcelona.

Lozano can play on either side of the attack or as a central striker. Even though he did show flashes of brilliance for the Mexican national team, he would probably not start a majority of games for us next season if he signs for us.

The 22-year-old needs to be a little better in the final third and even though he has the pace to burn and could be a threat to the opposition in the Premier League, Mourinho does have to do some work on the Mexican.

Spending €40m on the Mexican would not be the worst thing to do this summer and since we need some quality cover for the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford, Lozano could be a good signing for us.
