‘Another who suffered’, ‘Should have never been sold’ – United fans yearn for 50-goal international star

In a World Cup of surprises that just does not stop, Mexico stepped closer to a knockout round spot after defeating South Korea 2-1.

The Mexicans were coming into the game with a lot of confidence given their 1-0 win over Germany and they did start really well with Carlos Vela scoring from a first-half penalty. One quickly became two as former Manchester United star Javier Hernandez scored his 50th goal for the country.

El Tri did have to defend a bit and Tottenham’s Son Heung-min scored a fantastic goal from outside the box in the 92nd minute but the Asians could not get the equaliser in.

The Mexican was sold by United in 2015 to Bayer Leverkusen for £7.3m but he returned to England and is now playing for West Ham United.

Hernandez certainly was brilliant in the game and reminded a few United fans of just what he is still capable of as many reacted to the striker’s goal and time at Old Trafford a few seasons ago.
