Cristiano Ronaldo could leave La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer and even hinted at leaving the club after winning the Champions League by defeating Liverpool 3-1.

The 33-year-old scored 41 goals in all competitions for the Madrid giants but Manchester United have always been rumoured to be his next destination.

The Portugal star left Manchester to join Madrid in 2009 and now his mother has come out and stated that she would prefer the legend to return to United rather than go join Paris Saint-Germain.

Dolores Aveiro was taking part in an interview with French TV (h/t The Express) and was quoted as saying:

“I like Paris. I come every now and again. The last time was when my son received the Ballon d’Or. It was a great honour. When I arrived I was treated well by everyone.

“Convince Cristiano to sign for PSG? To be honest, it wouldn’t annoy me [if he did]. But I would prefer him to return to Manchester United.”

Ronaldo didn’t completely suggest that he would be staying at the Spanish club too, after the victory in Kiev and was quoted by The Mirror as saying:

“It was very nice to be at Real Madrid, in the coming days I will talk about it more.”

The Portugal star has been in incredible form for the La Liga giants ever since he made the switch to Madrid. Even though Ronaldo is 33, there is no doubt that he can play for a few more years at the top level and he would be a welcome addition to United.

While PSG are also rumoured to be a destination for the attacker, it will be interesting to see if any club wants to negotiate with Madrid over the sale of one of the best players in the world.

Ronaldo will not come on the cheap but if he is willing to make a switch, then there is no one who can stop him from leaving Real.
