Manchester United monitoring 6-assist Championship star along with £44m midfield beast

As per a report by The Sun, Manchester United are monitoring Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish and are interested in a potential summer deal. The report claims that United are set to sign Fred for £44m and that Grealish is being eyed up as a long-term prospect.

The Villans were unable to seal a promotion to the Premier League, meaning they will have to play in the Championship next term.

However, one cannot deny that they were one of the better teams in the second-tier competition last term and Grealish attracted a lot of attention for his displays in the middle of the park.

The 22-year-old generally occupies a central midfield role but he has a flair for playing intense attacking football. Over the course of the previous season, Grealish scored 3 goals and provided 6 assists for the Championship outfit. According to Squawka, he managed to create 47 chances in 25 appearances, which is quite impressive.

Although United are in dire need of a defensive midfielder, it goes without saying that Grealish could prove to be a decent addition to the squad. To be honest, Paul Pogba’s performances have not hit the mark on a lot of occasions in recent times and a promising youngster like Grealish might be the answer to our woes.

As far as the financial aspect is concerned, we are likely to be able to sign Grealish for a relatively lower fee and that should tempt Jose Mourinho to make a move.

We ended the season trophy-less as Chelsea beat us to the FA Cup and although we finished as runners-up in the Premier League, suffice to say it was not a good season for us. However, the ongoing transfer window seems to be providing a ray of hope since we are being linked with good players.
