Manchester United’s season ended on a disappointing note as we lost the FA Cup final to Chelsea by a single goal. Eden Hazard scored the only goal of the match when he was brought down by Phil Jones in the 22nd minute.
While we did dominate the second half of the game, there was a contentious decision taken when it seemed like Alexis Sanchez scored. However, the goal was ruled out after consultation with VAR, which suggested that the Chilean had strayed offside.
Paul Pogba did have a chance to score via a header but he could not take the chance and we were left to rue our missed opportunities as we ended the season without a trophy.
This was a poor performance and our fans were not happy with the result with many of them venting their frustration on Twitter.
Major investment needed for next season. Today’s loss confirms the fact we don’t have players to compete at top level in England and in Europe. A very disappointing season. #MUFC

That was grim. Again. So much attacking talent, so little attacking threat. Glad this frustrating season is over for MUFC. So long London. pic.twitter.com/ajYx8eoog7

Martial needs to stick around and fight for his place. Mourinho won’t be here for long, so he needs to stomach and ride this wave now that the World Cup has passed him. The next manager will realise he’s the best U23 talent at the club instead of playing workhorses. #mufc

Pray it would be the last time we see Smalling and Jones starting a match together for #mufc .

Huge summer for #MUFC and Mourinho. If he doesn’t get what he wants/needs Woodward could be looking for a new manager this time next year.

Mourinho: “without Lukaku or Fellaini we don’t have a presence, and Chelsea knew that.”
THEN PLAY SOME ACTUAL FOOTBALL!!!!!!#MUFC #FaCupFinal

I like defensive football when it’s done correctly. But we don’t do that. We play ‘anti-football’. We have talented players being coached to play functional rubbish.
Second in the league isn’t bad, but this team has reached its ceiling.
Serious investment needed now. #MUFC

Jose Mourinho has spent £300m at #mufc and this United side are STILL bang average – no trophies and finishing 19 points behind City is a terrible season. Woeful defensively, reliant on De Gea, toothless in midfield and play boring football #FaCupFinal

Awful first half. Better second half.
Sums up our season#MUFC

A season that promised so much ultimately ends in disappointment. We’ll back back next year, and hopefully in a big way. One love. MUFC.

No way is that a ‘good’ season for United. Progress in the Premier League, yes, but it’d have taken some doing to finish sixth again. No trophies, out of the Champions League to Sevilla and 19 points off City is not remotely ‘good’. #mufc
