£50million could seal the deal as Manchester United receive huge transfer boost

Alex Sandro

As per a report from La Stampa (h/t Daily Express), Manchester United have received a major boost in their pursuit of Juventus’ Alex Sandro.

The report claims that a transfer fee in the region of £50million will be enough to persuade the Italian giants to sell the player, especially since they are looking at a squad overhaul.

It is reported that Massimiliano Allegri is keen to bring in some new faces this summer and to do so, it will be important for them to offload a few players from a financial standpoint.

The likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah are a few names expected to receive the axe and so is Sandro.

It is no secret that we have struggled with the left-back area for a while now. Of course, one must give full credits to Ashley Young for the way he performed this season.

Despite being a winger by trade, he put in solid displays at left-back and held the fort for United at the back.

However, he is on the wrong side of 30 and if we are to make a serious Premier League title challenge next season, we must boost our depth in that area. Sandro certainly seems like a smart choice. However, the report did mention that we might have to throw in Matteo Darmian as a sweetener.

Nevertheless, Sandro is a key part of the Juventus set up but if £50million is enough to pry him away, it is certainly worth a shot. It remains to be seen if Luke Shaw chooses to continue with us beyond the end of this summer, thus providing all the more reason for us to pursue Sandro.
