Manchester United handed Manchester City the Premier League title after a shocking 1-0 loss at home to bottom side West Bromwich Albion.
The only goal of the game came in the 73rd minute as Jay Rodriguez scored from a Chris Brunt corner. It was a sluggish performance from our side and our best chance fell to Romelu Lukaku, whose header was saved well by Ben Foster.
This was a rather horrendous showing given that we came back from a two-goal deficit to defeat Manchester City at the Etihad last weekend.
United just did not seem to be in the mood for the game today and the title was decided without City having to play their next game.
The loss did not affect our table position and we have a game in hand on Liverpool, who are just one point behind us now.
West Brom, even with the win, are nine points from safety and only a miracle can save them. However, given that they beat us at our own patch, they still might have something left for the final four games of the season.
As expected, Twitter was filled with a number of fans venting their frustration regarding the game and here are some of the tweets.

20% chance United winning the league with Mourinho as manager while Pep’s at City.

I can’t wait for Mourinho to come out and say “Yeah, well when United lost to Hull City 10 years ago, Chelsea were awarded the title. This has happened before to Manchester United, they should be used to this. It’s not the first time.”

Boring, flat, no drive, no passion, no link up play. Worst performance of the season. So much talent in the squad and we play like this. #mufc

That sums up #mufc season. Dire to watch, slow football, no ability to break down teams and a struggle to beat the sides everyone else is hammering for fun. Record against bottom 6 is poor.

What’s the point of beating the top team away when you lose to the BOTTOM team at HOME ????#MUFC
