Man United boss Jose Mourinho wants Real Madrid star Toni Kroos for TWO reasons
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is now eyeing a move for Toni Kroos in the summer.
A report from Don Balon has claimed that Jose Mourinho is “fully determined” on signing Kroos simply because the German fits in his scheme to perfection. The Galacticos, on their part, might very well look reluctant on letting him go but Mourinho won’t stop pushing United’s hierarchy until he gets what he wants.
After a productive (in terms of trophies) debut season with United, Mourinho has come under a lot of pressure this term. The inter-city rivals Manchester City have all but confirmed their hands on the Premier League crown and having faced an early elimination from the Champions League, the FA Cup remains the only chance for Mourinho to win a title this season.
As the aforementioned report claims, Mourinho’s interest in Kross has been bifurcated in two aspects. The first and foremost being the massive drop in the form of Paul Pogba. The 25-year-old has seen his form take a big hit since the turn of the year and so has his confidence. Pogba’s drop from grace also saw him facing the bench on a number of occasions this season and this has only added fuel to the fire.
Furthermore, there is no denying the fact that United need a midfielder for the next season. And Mourinho’s pursuit of acquiring the German could spring to fruition this summer.
Interestingly, United have been linked with Kross in the past as well, as per this report from The Telegraph. Under David Moyes, the Red Devils had their eyes freeze on Kroos but as Moyes was sacked, the plans of signing the German was scrapped.
