According to Daily Mail, Alexis Sanchez’s behaviour is causing all sorts of problems among the coaching staff at Manchester United. The Chilean joined United from Arsenal in the winter transfer window and has so far failed to find his feet at Old Trafford, scoring just a goal in 10 appearances so far.
The Daily Mail report that Sanchez, who earns a total of £600,000-a-week at Old Trafford, is not gelling with his teammates, cutting an isolated figure, often being spotted eating alone in the canteen. Some think that the Chilean star is having second thoughts over his decision to join United, the Daily Mail adds.
The 29-year-old is currently away on international duty in South America and will not return to Manchester until the end of March. The Daily Mail claim that Sanchez’s poor start to life at Old Trafford has generated fear amongst the staff, of a repeat of the Angel Di Maria debacle.
However, the Daily Mail does reveal that Sanchez tends to mingle up and speak with Spanish-speaking players at United and recently moved out of his suite at the Lowry Hotel to a permanent residence.
A United source told the Daily Mail.
“He looks like someone who doesn’t want to be here. The whole thing doesn’t seem right and he looks like a lost boy. It was the same with Di Maria.”
Sanchez’s lacklustre displays since joining the Red Devils in January finally saw him get dropped to the bench for the first time. Jose Mourinho demoted the Chilean attacker to the bench for United’s FA Cup quarterfinal victory over Brighton on Saturday after a forgettable performance in the 2-1 defeat to Sevilla in the Champions League last week.
Being a United fan, I can only hope that Sanchez gets back his mojo after the international break and helps us secure the FA Cup and the runners-up place in the Premier League.
