Manchester United to hand huge transfer blow to Real Madrid by offering £350,000-a-week for club superstar

David De Gea of Manchester United

Manchester United are all set to make David De Gea the highest paid goalkeeper in the world as they are preparing a stunning £350,000-a-week contract for the Spaniard, quotes an exclusive report from Daily Star.

David De Gea – a three-time Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year for Manchester United – currently pockets £210,000-a-week from a deal he signed three years ago. De Gea, during the early part of August 2015, saw his future at Manchester United come under heavy scrutiny and was soon dropped for the selection in the Premier League fixture.

Reports soon gathered that he had requested his coaching staff to be left out of the squad. But despite the Spaniard himself rejecting exit claims, he started training with the reserves soon.

De Gea then went on to sign a new four-year deal with Manchester United and the deal also gives United an option of extending his stay by another year.

The Spaniard, since then, has gone on to win the FA Cup, the League Cup and a UEFA Europa League winner’s medal.

De Gea is definitely Manchester United’s indispensable figure as he has literally won us games single-handedly. However, defending La Liga champions Real Madrid are being linked with the Spaniard and if the reports are to be believed, they might well approach Manchester United for the 27-year-old.

Hence, to ward off any potential suitors, Manchester United are all set to reward him a new and improved contract. So although there isn’t any confirmation as to what exactly United would offer, there is this news that his new deal will see him earn a jaw-dropping £350,000-a-week at Old Trafford.

High earners like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marouane Fellaini are set to depart at the end of the season and this is why the United hierarchy are offering him a huge pay-rise.

So with David De Gea close to agreeing on a bumper deal, Real Madrid will be expected to turn their heads towards Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.
