Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are keeping tabs on the contract situation of RB Leipzig’s goal machine, Timo Werner along with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

As per The Sun, only Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United were interested in Werner but Arsenal have now decided to enter the fray as well. Leipzig recently clashed with Napoli in the first leg of the round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League and as per the aforementioned source, Wenger had sent his scouts to track Werner, who scored two goals on the night.

It was Napoli who took the lead through Adam Ounas but Werner stepped up and scored the equaliser within nine minutes before Bruma scored the second for Leipzig.

Werner eventually went on to hammer the final nail and added a third in the injury time, giving his side a well-deserved advantage away from home. In 29 appearances in all competitions for Leipzig, the 21-year-old forward has netted 16 times and is just 5 goals shy of equalling his last season’s tally, where he scored 21.

Werner, a 10-time capped Germany international, has already scored 7 goals for Die Mannschaft and helped them lift the Confederations Cup last summer. As per The Sun, his exploits – both for the club and the nation – haven’t gone unnoticed and besides the aforementioned Premier League clubs, La Liga giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are in the race as well.

As far as Leipzig are concerned, they are still reluctant to lose Werner and rate him at a whopping £50million. He will be half-way through his current contract by the end of the season and although Leipzig want to give him a new deal, he has rejected those welcomes.

This has made him one of the most wanted entities in the transfer market and suitors like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool will only see his stocks rising high when the summer transfer market opens.
